About Us
We are the sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda at Tau Chapter, Columbia University ♡
Kappa Phi Lambda (ΚΦΛ) Sorority, Inc. is the ✨ONLY✨ multicultural, Asian-interest sorority on the Columbia/Barnard campus, but we are NOT Asian-exclusive! We are one of the fastest-growing Asian-interest sororities in the nation, with 26 chapters, 10 associate chapters, and over 3,000 sisters nationwide! We thrive under the pillars of sisterhood, service, and cultural diversity.

History of Kappa Phi Lambda
Founding Mothers
Kappa Phi Lambda was founded on March 9, 1995 at Binghamton University by seven extraordinary women. These inspirational founding mothers – Elizabeth Choi, Karen Eng, Rei Hirasawa, Hee Cho Moon, Chae Yoo, Samantha Somchanhmavong, and Connie Yang – united with a single vision of providing women with the chance to use their pride in heritage to become leaders of society.
